In Rememberance of Habib Rose: A true Community Weaver

Steve "Habib" Rose passed away suddenly and was remembered today at a gathering at University Friends Church in Seattle, Washington. Habib was the epitomy of a master weaver - he was just born with that 6th sense. He treated everyone as if they were his friend. He new knew everyone in his neighborhood in the Central District of Seattle and when someone had a problem he'd weave them to someone who could meet that need. Habib would weave people together in so many different ways. He is a true master in gifting himself to others and weaving people to one another. No need went unmet when Habib was around. His favorite comment was, "I know someone you should meet."

Habib was the founder of Neighbor Nets. His approach to community building was so far ahead of it's time that many couldn't grasp the magnitude of his vision. I will miss his loving spirit. My prayer is to pass on Habib's legacy by connecting with people at the heart.

Peace my brother...you are in paradise watching over all of us as we continue to weave this magnificent patchwork of community aound the worls.
